Physical Description:
She is a thin almost waif like young woman who is quiet and reserved till she knows you then very open and voluble. She loves engineering, and never passes an opportunity to learn more about it.

General Overview:
Hope grew up in the military world of the Imperium. Both her parents were part of the space navy and had expected her to be also. She still has a sheltered view of the galaxy, that most people are good at heart, that if given the choice they will do what is best for everyone, and that strangers will help others. She has learned that this is not always the case but still has that belief deep in her heart. It is her default view of strangers.

She believes that there is good in everyone. She will trust where trust is not warranted. Her aim with her .380 pistol is dead on and true, even if she does not like to use it.

History

Hope was brought up by her parents on a military vessel. her father was part of the Security and her mother worked in Engineering. Hope’s leanings were like her mother’s and from the time that she was old enough to know better then to push buttons she would be with her mother in Engineering.

Hope grew up in a loving family environment, both her parents where Psi but never admitted it, in fact to cover themselves better they would publicly approve those that were punished for showing Psi abilities, and Hope learned like most children of the time that Psi was bad.

Secretly they both watched Hope and curbed any Psi activity the best they could. Training her to suppress it in her normal life, but never telling her she had the ability. When she was old enough they tested her to see what abilities she had and found that she was a caster and could talk to machines.

That was when her mother made the box for her, telling her it was a tool to work on machines, if she was ever stuck they hoped she would use the box and never realize that it was she herself that had done it, that she would always assume it was the box.

They were going to tell her when the time was right, but since Hope's caster powers seemed a little out of control, (she met new friends constantly) and because her temperament never seemed right they didn't get to before she went to the academy.

Her goal, her whole life was set that she would attend the academy at the age of 17. Her father taught her small arms, long arms, tactical, and hand to hand combat. But it was her mother that taught her the things she valued the most. Hope was able to tear down and repair a FTL engine before even starting the academy. She was as capable as any member of the ship's engineers.

Her dream, obsession, was realized at the age of 17 when she was accepted into the military academy.

At the beginning of her third year she was accused of cheating when a group of fellow students were found to be breaking into the computer system with a code hack she had developed for other uses.

Dishonorably discharged, unable to prove her innocence she did not return to her family or their home.

She has been roaming, picking up odd engineering jobs for room and board. Hiding from her family since they have repeatedly tried to contact her or even catch and detain her.
